终于明白新教各个分支的关系和中心了...从此告别宗教盲。韦伯有点好笑，前面一直try to be neutral憋着忍着，最后几页终于忍不住了，顺应历史洪流的悲观感一泻千里。不知道那些批判韦伯神化资本主义的人哪儿来的底气，韦伯字里行间并没有为资本主义辩护的意思，尤其是最后对体制的悲观。

How insightful! yet from this ethic, a system of capitalism emerged and no longer required ascetic values to sustain itself. These values became the capitalist spirit, and now we are all forced to follow them. 配合着卢梭麦金太尔一起阅读愈发觉得现代性中对self evident truth and moralities相当不友好，我们的精神何处落脚呢？I wonder

Weber captured something unique amid a particular age, and the insights in this book were just the beginning of his theory. His critics mostly missed the point and the book was destined to be misunderstood. Many of the misunderstandings today were generated thanks to his critics. A must read, but Weber never intended it to become a best-seller.
