曆史還是很燃的！最開始在紀錄片She is beautiful when she is angry中看到這個故事，後來偶爾在podcast裏聽到一個原成員的訪談，說在當下pro life還是pro right吵得不可開交的時候，有必要迴顧下以前的女性們做瞭些什麼，為什麼做。不過看書印象更深的一個事情是，Jane和第二次女權主義浪潮中很多組織一樣，有意去中心化，去hierarchy，要每個人都是完全平等的，但在組織的實際發展中強硬領袖冉冉升起是那麼自然而然的一件事。。。

This study reveals the presence of a secret organization, code-named "Jane", which provided an alternative. Here the women tell their own stories. A former member of "Jane", Laura Kaplan draws on her personal recollections and interviews with other "Jane" members and clients, and the doctors who performed the abortions, providing a detailed history of this radical group. Weaving together the voices and memories of her former co-workers, Kaplan recounts how the group initially focused on counselling women and helping them find reliable, reasonably-priced doctors. Her account of this remarkable story recaptures the political idealism of the early 1970s.
