Generally, it is believed that Chinese New Year pictures originated from Gate-God picture of Han dynasty, and the term “New Year picture” occurred during Qing dynasty. At the beginning, New Year pictures were only used to convey blessing. As time went by, this form of art has extended to reflect social and daily life of the new China after establishment in 1949. 整体上看,较同系列的另一本政治色彩更加淡一些,当然可读性也就差一点。但是因为主要是中国的年画,所以中国传统画风格十分鲜明,50年代常见的苏式风格宣传画在这本书里比较少见。还是老问题,选的图但不很具有代表性。
