评分极好的入门读物，而作者的宗教立场是值得玩味的。讨论了许多有趣的主题：基督的神性/人性，正统圣经也许只是许多可能的真相的一个版本，church Christianity/biblical Christianity/mythtical Christianity and Quaker，政治与宗教联姻，奥古斯丁的原罪（为什么获得道德和知识被视为the fall of human race，而非人变为成人所必经的责任和磨砺？而人在获取智识后，穿过黑暗和异端，经历欺骗和杀戮，跨过磨难，最终拜服于神，难道不才是真正的信仰，而非盲目地伸手接受paternalistic care）。而我的言论和想法，无一不是源自并受制于历史和当下思潮的。所以对古人的质疑和玩笑，都也是一叶障目。
