广州的地方史，经过西方现代性、大卫哈维的空间理论与福柯的治理理论的点化，确是有不少启发性，但也正因囿于理论，又常有削足适履之感，20世纪前三十年的广州仅用现代/非现代二元论的眼光来分析是否合适？想起加拿大某晚清历史著作大用福柯而被痛批的故事来了……不过参考文献的确使我受益匪浅
