A short brilliant novel about abnormality and things that deal with the human weakness and desire of many kinds. And the ending, together with the sensitive and oppressive atmosphere, make this tiny book a masterpiece, telling readers the dark side of mankind and the terrible results caused by those greedy lusts resulting from sick mentality.

Mind-blowing...especially when you think it is just another story about old couples getting bored????????

It's my first time reading McEwan's. The plots are mediocre and the pacing is unnecessarily slow, yet I can see what people like about him--all those masterful skills exerting commercial elements: sex plus violence.

在读这个小说的途中一直感受得到强烈的电影感，非得把它拍成电影，不拍都可惜得会死的感觉。 在读过译者后记后，才了解小说中的技巧之丰富绚烂。也能更深入的去体会到一些细节所起的作用。 不过阅读过程中，可从没想过 作者使用人称的问题、对每个角色施用笔墨多少、还有在...  

也许我要是不看译后记，可能根本没意识到自己看的是一个这样充满阴谋的血腥的性虐结尾的故事。我看到的不过是一对在威尼斯度假的关系不错的情侣，他们不爱购物逛街，天天窝在宾馆做坏事，还遇到一对更奇怪的热情的当地夫妇，便更喜欢做坏事了这样的故事……故事很平缓，不疾不...  

读此书前，我对麦克尤恩的感性认识仅限于《赎罪》。读他的书不多，如同我没有读过多少英国的当代作品，这些作家的名字我更多是从教科书上知晓的。 《赎罪》给我的也是好几个不同印象的麦克尤恩－－影像的，原文的和译文的。但无论哪种形式，都给我一种雷诺阿式的印象派风格，...
