斯諾登是權力和資本藉助數據大規模侵入私人生活之前敲響喪鍾的男孩。在美麗的夕陽落下以後讀完這本書，前所未有地感到自己生活在數字繭房的囚籠之中，我們之所以還沒有感覺到失去隱私的痛苦，隻是因為能它換來數據巨頭的一點蠅頭小利，而我們沒有強大和厲害到對什麼造成威脅。而一旦你成為什麼的威脅者，將不堪一擊。對本書的中國版引入者，錶示敬意，太不容易。

個人傳記再多大程度上是有偏的，這一點在此可以忽略不計。作為一個曆史事件的創造者和記錄人，斯諾登在書裏描述瞭幾乎是每個決定背後的思考過程和理由，沒有什麼驚天大料，這本書的目的也不是為瞭爆料。找到自己相信的原則並堅持貫徹和依此行事，非常非常瞭不起。
