在书里看到了自己过去几年学习英语学术写作过程中遇到的种种问题。总结一下要点：（1）用平易近人的风格写作；（2）少用被动句，特别是缺乏动作主体的被动句；（3）别给句子加没用的修饰成分；（3）先写再改，动笔要快；（4）非要找到完美的写法才动笔，只会增加拖延。

Sociologist Howard S. Becker has written the classic book on how to conquer these pressures and simply write. Wordiness, the passive voice, inserting a "the way in which" when a simple "how" will do - all these mechanisms are a part of the social structure of academic writing.
