评分描写了昂山素季的人生经历，政治家女儿继承政治家的道路，不是她选择的路，而是出生就决定了的命运。带有光环而又艰辛的路。
评分昂山素季从1984年到1995年间的论文集，较为详细地阐述了她的政治理念：多党制民主、人权、言论自由、民族和解、非暴力等。作为佛教徒，昂山素季努力将佛教教义和民主体制互相融合，但仍然坚称民主理念应是普世共存，不应追求所谓“缅甸特色民主”。如果想要研究昂山素季的意识形态思想，那么本书作为政论是少有的完整资源。平常阅读或者学术阅读的话，论文主题略显重复、论述偏浅。
