提出了好的approach，但是展开得不够effective也不够clear...这个approach很有趣，但本身就是朦胧而困惑的，只有酱紫的分析讨论远远不够啊。

disappointed. The concept "polylocality" is very intriguing. But he doesn't elaborate it well. In many places, he just fails to make good connections between theories and films.

Typical of Zhang's scholarly writing - he sees the problems, raises good questions, collects precise quotes, proposes sensible theoretical frameworks at least in the prelude, and then leaves them there. Issues with production, filmic representation, exhibition and reception are unorganically addressed under the umbrella of "polylocality" as a term.
