This extensively revised Norton Critical Edition includes material that conveys the enduring global conversation about Frankenstein. The text of the 1818 first edition is accompanied by a new preface, explanatory annotations and three supporting sections. Among the new inclusions are studies on the novel's reception and on its film adaptations. "Criticism" collects sixteen interpretations of Frankenstein. A chronology and bibliography are also included.
