我推薦每個女性去讀讀這本書，無論姑娘是不是女權主義者，無論姑娘你認為你應該過上什麼樣的生活。在我十八歲的那年Betty Friedan告訴作為女性更應該去尋找自己生存的價值與意義，做一個現代女性並不是對女性天賦角色的抵抗，而是去看清生活中的一些隱性的歧視和不公，慢慢走嚮一種完全獨立的生活，並在最好的年紀裏去尋找自己願意奉獻一生的職業，興趣和愛好。作者嚮我們描述瞭60年前美國女性對自我的探求和重拾自尊，自立，自強的道路，她們也因為這本書揭開瞭feminine mystique虛僞的麵紗，勇敢的拒絕寫下“occupation-housewife”，並驕傲的在職業一欄中寫下瞭doctor，political activist，lawyer，teacher and etc etc.

曾經有個女人就讀瞭一本此書中譯版就自以為神聖的母知，將所謂的女權主義自我驕傲又狹隘地重新詮釋瞭一遍；我自己也沒好到哪裏去。故幻滅。從此對feminism沒有熱切的信仰。僅工具而已。
