These three stories are about a dog named Max and a cat named Sandy. They live in the home of John and Mary Angel and their son Joey. The animals can talk to each other, but the humans can only hear them bark or meow. Max can stay inside or he can go outside. Sandy is only an inside cat. When Max decides to go out and find those that are lost Sandy firmly demands on going with him. Together they deal with outdoor problems, and in the end they both bring what was an unhappy beginning to a happy ending.
