The Venerable Kākkāpalliye Anuruddha Thera graduated from the University of Ceylon, specializing in Pāli language and literature, and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Lancaster. He taught well over 30 years at the University of Kelaniya and served as the first-ever Vice Chancellor of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka. Currently he is Professor of Theravāda Buddhism and Pāli at the Chi Lin Evening College and Visiting Professor of Pāli Language and Literature at the University of Hong Kong.
