两个自私的女人在里南这个贫穷而封闭的小村子里互相撕扯着坠入地狱。麦克唐纳的情节剧"选美皇后"看起来很"兰闺春怨"，但相比却高出几个层级。作者恰当的遣词造句让母女二人的每个野蛮行径都在情绪和逻辑上十分可信，又通过细节的搭建让观众吸了一口又一口的凉气。一个准确的制作应当让观众观戏时牢牢抓住椅子把手，并在最后一个包袱后把他们打入黑暗。
