兩個自私的女人在裏南這個貧窮而封閉的小村子裏互相撕扯著墜入地獄。麥剋唐納的情節劇"選美皇後"看起來很"蘭閨春怨"，但相比卻高齣幾個層級。作者恰當的遣詞造句讓母女二人的每個野蠻行徑都在情緒和邏輯上十分可信，又通過細節的搭建讓觀眾吸瞭一口又一口的涼氣。一個準確的製作應當讓觀眾觀戲時牢牢抓住椅子把手，並在最後一個包袱後把他們打入黑暗。
