中國民用航空總局適航司主持編寫

叢書具有題材廣泛、內容新穎、詞匯豐富和實用性強等特點。編寫這套教材時遵循以下基本原則：以現代民用航空器適航與維修管理的內容與範圍、現狀與未來為綫索組織編排教材；力求把學習現代科技英語句型、用詞和修辭特點，及提高對適航工程英語的讀、寫、聽、說、譯能力，與學習瞭解現代民用航空器適航與維修管理方麵的基本知識相結閤；努力提高和實現這套教材的多功能性，使它既能作為繼續教育工程教材，又可作為院校有關專業成人教育教材。為此，從教材所選內容的英語語言和專業內容範圍及難易程度上加以控製，適當加大跨度，以滿足我國民用航空器適航和維修管理人員專業英語培訓的適用性和可自學性。

為貫徹把提高科技英語的應用技能，與學習瞭解現代航空器適航和維修管理的基本知識相結閤的原則，本教材既考慮與精讀教材內容相配閤，又要保持其相對獨立性。本教程是對精讀教程的補充和擴展，內容包括民用航空器適航和維修管理，並對航空維修管理在篇幅上有所側重。全書共30課，前12課分彆與精讀教程中的12課課文相對應，內容相近，側重於適航管理，後18課側重於航空器維修管理。

本教材各課均配有詞匯錶、注釋、思考題，書後附有總詞匯錶、常用英語縮略語。這樣既有利於提高讀者閱讀過程中的分析、歸納、綜閤和推斷的能力，又可以提高本教材對繼續工程教育與養成教育的適用性，並提高其可自學性。

本書具有選材精細、內容新穎、題材廣泛、詞匯豐富；知識性、趣味性和實用性強等特點。

本書可作為對民航係統從事航空器適航管理的各類監察人員和航空維修人員及有關工程技術人員實施適航工程英語培訓/考試的教材；也可作為民航院校有關專業開設《適航工程英語》課程的教材；並可供希望提高專業英語水平及瞭解民用航空器適航和現代航空維修管理基本知識的航空界其他人員閱讀參考。
