V.S.奈保尔（V.S.Naipaul）：

But in between lies the landscape of an unnamed country whose squalor and ethnic bloodletting suggest Idi Amin’s Uganda. 有点失望。两个短篇还不错，主打的短长篇令人厌烦，通篇没话找话的大段景物描写，没看出起到什么必不可少的作用。其实整本书就是在讲cultural displacement，无论“从低向高”追求更好的生活，还是“从高到低”寻求自由，最终都事与愿违无所适从。
