其实很难想象Bishop现在成为了one of the major poets in modern english poetry，跟她一直给自己所定位的minor的位置有些出入。不是说她不好，她自然好，和同时代诗人的亲密与距离，在浪漫派和艾略特流之间的位置，掩藏不住的语言灵感在意象和声音上的火花，和一个总是抽离的理性的态度，她非常好。但提起major poet，哪怕有意识的自我decenter，也会因为这decenter而有个核心的自我构建，Bishop的这个“自我”不能说不明确，但与其说它是主体构建的，不如说它是她的作品读到最后一行所完成的整体。像曝光两小时后所拍下的星图。
