读这本书的前三分之一，让我第一次感觉到文字像水一样在流淌：安静，自然，顺畅。情节设置巧妙，很吊胃口，直到结尾才把前面的迷局一一解开。有些场景描写非常传神，用词很讲究，印象中把SAT阅读中出现的三个表示幽灵幻影的词：vision、apparition、phantom 都用到了。配角口中的话，看似戏谑，往往充满生活智慧。总结一句就是：勇敢去爱！

卡洛斯·鲁依斯·萨丰（Carlos Ruiz Zafón）1964年生于巴塞罗那，原任职于广告界，后赴美定居，目前在洛山矶从事电影编剧以及文学创作。1993年出版小说处女作《白雪王子》，荣获西班牙重要的「艾德彼儿童文学奖」肯定，接下来几部作品如《午夜皇宫》《九月之光》和《玛丽娜》等，都是极受好评的青少年小说。
