I love the philosophy of aesthetics :)
评分Wölfflin shows that modern art (since Baroque) is not a degraded development from classic and Renaissance but an alternative one, so that it deserves to be seen with a refreshed view. He surveys the radical transition in a wide range of art disciplines(paintings, sculptures, architecture). The discussions on paintings are very enlightening.
评分1.此版英譯不太理想,爭取一年後能讀德語原本(據說沃氏德文很平易);2.這本書裏最大的tension,最後一章也未能彌閤,即這套“基本概念”框架和闡述它所仰仗於的曆史語境(15-18世紀)之間的關係,一方麵似乎淩駕其上,另一方麵又切實關乎具體的“風格轉變”,沃氏並未給齣相關解答;3.讀罷越發認同潘和Wind在1925年對沃和李格爾之間的比較和判斷,沃氏的長處在於從視覺層麵闡發形式特徵,但如何以此為基礎將“概念”和“曆史”/“實物”緊密結閤,而不是架空曆史來談category,李格爾真的做得更為徹底(radical)、精確和動態,或許這也是為什麼李格爾刻意避免瞭malerisch這個時代色彩厚重的詞;4.書中很多一筆帶過的論斷裏大有乾坤,也隱約覺得對建築的論述最紮實精彩,沃氏其他著作有待細讀
