無語,最後幾頁竟然沒瞭,總會提及從前男尊女卑的社會,女性主義思想的萌發。以兒換女的父親在那一重男輕女的時代過得無奈,國內飢荒文革,國外修路淘金,那一時代的人命途多舛,艱難生存。《其它幾個美國人的故事》還不錯,送母親的鬼魂迴傢;癡迷麥芽和共産主義的賓叔神經大條,害怕在國外被誤殺投毒;姨媽和阿福姨父漂泊的生存之旅,還有加州的母親與新加坡的弟弟分隔多年纔打電話的場景,真實而令人唏噓不已。“50年纔打一次電話,什麼也沒說。”“這就是電話的特性,聽到聲音就足夠瞭。”
评分大概nonfiction的成分比《女勇士》多,因此也更雜亂更不好讀瞭,可能對社會學和流散文學的意義更大一點。

评分終於看完瞭可以打差評瞭!看瞭一遍都不知道作者說的啥,太亂瞭,毫無章法,差評!還是《女勇士》好得多!
评分和《女勇士》相比,同樣充滿著湯亭亭獨特風格的奇思和跳躍,但《中國佬》的男性視角涉及瞭很多公眾曆史事件——華人勞工在夏威夷種甘蔗地、修鐵路,反共狂潮和參加越南戰爭的故事,讀來很有感觸,感覺像是在看一部血淚華人移民史,個人更喜歡這一本。
