这次把The Waste Land和Prufrock之外的内容补完了……艾略特似乎对“人的（动）物化”（e.g. the silent vertebrate in brown & murderous paws）、“（动）物的人化”（大量奇妙的拟人运用）、“沼气”（以及相似的“毒气”“阴霾”blah blah，有内在联系的“肮脏”）等概念组合特别迷恋……一些与其他Modernism作品的共通性：对日常生活意象的关注；真相的不可知性；有限个体试图把握宏大历史而生发出的无力感。
