作者圍繞 openings, character, narrative, interpretation, value 寫瞭五篇短文，風格較隨意，不時拿特朗普之類的人開涮。不過，想瞭解這些概念，申丹老師的敘事、文體與潛文本，似乎更值得推薦。

其實我的《打開文學的方式：文學解讀講義》http://read.douban.com/column/1004370/，和這個，和 J. Hillis Miller 的 On Literature （中譯《文學死瞭嗎》），和剛剛看到的有一本 How to Read Literature Like a Professor (《教你讀懂文學的27堂課》)，不都是在做同樣的深入淺齣的工作麼？自信於自己講義的優勢，在於紮根於漢語言閱讀經驗，不葛，不在英文語言文化裏麵打轉兒。而在對文學 in general 的把握上，英雄所見略同。

幽默得蠻高冷的，有時候接不住時愣一下，想一會兒纔反應過來，更是會心一笑。好玩，最後還正經八百兒分析瞭哈利波特????好可愛

一份強力草單，含間歇性劇透（三兩字就劇透瞭羅傑疑案真的是沒sei瞭！！我擦==）。喜歡伊格爾頓略帶造作的英式冷幽默，最愛最末章對納博科夫的分析；以及結尾笑瘋。當然作為導讀本，還是有點淺瞭。
