很实在地指出了很多minority，尤其是minority women在law firm的很多问题。写的很现实但很有共鸣。除了结局有点出乎意料。

对华裔美国女性这样的双重minority在白人男性社会中生存的心理描写很到位。某些地方的幽默感也非常可爱。整本书很有好莱坞电影即视感。结尾的happy ending有点boring和naive.

上学的时候觉得全是cliche看不下去，工作以后再读觉得每个委屈都感同身受。可惜现实没有看到那样的happy ending

关于诉讼的法律小说多，但是讲述非诉的小说很少。讲述华裔/少数族裔在非优势行业里遇到的玻璃天花板，很多点都抓得很到位，但是离五星作品还是查了那么一点火候。

Call me cynical but I feel Ingrid Yung, all along, is not as innocent as the author tries deliberately hard to portrait. It actually makes some of the plots unbearably naive because the author tries too hard to justify Ingrid's innocence.
