小說跟電視劇價值取嚮完全南轅北轍好嗎，男主角看得我想掐死他所以就算他這樣的人和精神走到末路我也不會覺得有什麼可惜的。這本書你就當是給英國那種虛僞的紳士精神唱挽歌吧。

the sort of books you read not for the story but for the writing and the way you feel when reading it.but then ultimately the story did get to you. beautiful writing. beautiful book. shame that the miniseries oversimplify and whitewash them, especially the women.
