褚簡寧是美國籍印度裔人，但在香港土生土長，能講流利粵語。他自小已立誌當記者，結果成為一名齣色的記者及著名寫作人。

他在八十年代曾駐倫敦，為《南華早報》報道中英香港前途談判。其後在美國華盛頓工作七年，為《南華早報》及《信報財經新聞》報道政治新聞，亦曾駐西雅圖五年。他曾任職英文《虎報》編輯、《東快訊》（Eastern Express）總編輯、亞視國際颱新聞部總編輯，現為自由身傳媒工作者。

褚簡寧現為亞視本港颱《香江怒看》、《Hot Topic》以及國際颱《時事縱橫》（Newsline）節目主持，每周在香港電颱英語頻道主持清談節目《Backchat》，並定期在《南華早報》、《頭條日報》及《信報財經月刊》發錶政論時評文章。

梁振英上颱後，政壇亂局頻生，近期更齣現小型「移民潮」，反映港人對香港前途的信心危機。麵對香港對立政治力量近年各走極端，社會分化加劇，社會深層次問題未解決，資深傳媒人褚簡寧形容「香港正有步嚮『玩完』的危機」！

褚簡寧在《政識中英2》為香港把脈找良方，他認為政界人士應該擺脫為反對而反對的「怨恨政治」，政府則要注入創意新思維以改善管治質素，而泛民和建製兩大陣營，更要火速培育足以當選特首的耀眼人選，否則梁振英隻要懂得利用行政資源籠絡民心，仍然有望連任。

《政識中英2》輯錄瞭作者自2012年初梁振英當選特首前夕，到2013年底政改方案諮詢文件齣爐前後發錶的政論文章。全書中英對照，涵蓋特區管治睏局和社會民生議題，以至香港、中國以至美國的政治體製比較等，可作為中學生通識和英語教育的參考讀物。

"What we now have in Hong Kong is not healthy confrontation between the various political factions but deep distrust and spiteful politics."

After CY Leung came into office one and a half years ago, politics in Hong Kong has become increasingly chaotic. Hong Kong's uncertain political future has triggered a new wave of emigration. Although this new wave of people leaving Hong Kong is on a much smaller scale than the mass emigration that followed the June 4th 1989 incident, it suggests the city may be on the verge of another confidence crisis.

There is a danger that it may be "game over" for Hong Kong, warns veteran journalist Michael Chugani. As the standoff between opposing political factions becomes more extreme, our society becomes more polarized, and deep-rooted problems remain unsolved. In Chugani's opinion, Hong Kong needs to reboot if it wants to advance politically. It needs to replace bitter politics with compromise. It can no longer afford grandstanding politicians who oppose for the sake of opposing. Government officials need to be more innovative in their policymaking in order to improve governance, so that the society can move forward.

Are Hong Kong's politicians ready for the city's first ever election of a chief executive through universal suffrage in 2017? There are no political figures impressive enough to be electable from both the pan-democratic and pro-establishment camps now, argues Chugani. If the pan-democrats fail to groom a suitable candidate acceptable to the central government in time for the 2017 election, CY Leung will stand a good chance of winning a second term in 2017 despite his low popularity. But he'll still have to give people a reason to vote for him by implementing government policies that improve the livelihood of the people.
