基础立论有点太文化批评和后殖民影子；某些理论堆砌无必要；面对的是层累的历史，有些人类学解读“倒果为因”看不到背后历史的复杂性；器物的解读有“结构"无“言说”。但本书正式明确从人类学角度切入礼仪和物质形态，这个方向很有潜力。
