1951年的作品，因为同性恋主题被一贯合作的出版社拒绝，换了家出版社才得以问世。Carol的出场很惊艳，但不知为什么Therese对她的一见钟情和执著还是无法触动我。直到快结尾时我都以为这是个"事如春梦了无痕"的故事，没想到居然HE了！结尾我喜欢，虽然表面写的是Therese的醒悟，而我看到的却是Carol对她深沉又炽热的爱。
评分最吸引我的可能是两个人的蜕变了。彼此不知道自己将要成为什么样的女人。这对于任何人来说，无论男女应该都是一个永恒的课题。但成长对于女人来说是课题，对男人来说是吗？「我居然想不到一对gay来验证我的想法」两个人相爱让彼此变得更好。然后看完的瞬间就去买了一个之前就想要的包。烟酒香水化妆品加礼帽丝巾手套高跟鞋＝一个致命女人＝盐本盐。小说后面的结局我不喜欢，Carol本人比电影里演的还要冷静有魅力。但是电影真的改编到值得五星。
