Its wounded hero, the teenage Kid, must confront the extraordinary violence of the Glanton gang, a murderous cadre on an official mission to scalp Indians and sell those scalps. Loosely based on fact, the novel represents a genius vision of the historical West, one so fiercely realized that since its initial publication in 1985 the canon of American literature has welcomed Blood Meridian to its shelf.

说起《血色子午线》的出版，实在一波三折。拿到版权，是2010年初的事，签好翻译合同，是在年中。然后译者出国、生子，拖稿拖稿再拖稿。然后彻底失去联系。直到2012年初，我迫不得已动用微博的强大力量，才把译者从茫茫人海中挖了出来，同时还招致诸多海外同胞的痛斥，说我暴露...
