冰冷是这部作品的主题，男主是一个守规矩但无法融入社会的人，一个万物的旁观者，不会在妈妈的葬礼上哭泣，因为他知道这个结局是好的。他不拒绝女友的结婚请求，因为那无所谓，他只会默默地看着。直到荒唐的枪杀发生了，男主依然是旁观者，在法庭无论辩论多么激烈，他也只是看客。整个故事显得那么冰冷，荒唐，无序。

已经有几位朋友警告我，少读加缪的书，因为潘多拉的魔盒可能会被开启。

读了一遍中文版以后又兢兢业业地读完了英文版。尽管都是译文、可明显觉得英文版更能让我读进去。读完以后就在想：这种不屑于用所谓“正常”和被世人“理解”的方式表达自己的人设简直就是我啊。只可惜这种人最终都会成为体制的牺牲品 ????
