评分讀得penguin classics的版本（越來越覺得企鵝是個瞭不起的齣版社）一個可以說是幸運的黑人女奴的血淚史，行文裏噴薄欲齣的無法壓製的對自由的渴望，和作為一個女性和母親的感情太強大，看到最後真的是熱淚盈眶。不知道短評裏說“挺無趣的”人是怎麼想的。這本書是在女性白人編輯的擔保下齣版，用的是假名，但齣版後所有人都覺得是假的，覺得黑人寫不齣這樣的書。直到上個世紀80年代一個女性學者把有關這本書的一切真實史料挖瞭個底朝天，世人纔知道原來這本書真的是由黑人所寫，講述的完全是真實的故事。作者，編輯，還有這位學者都是偉大的女性。
