这是一本讲对称的书，拿到手的第一感觉是精美，几乎每一页都包含精美的图片，在数学书中是不多见的。这本书看似像科普书，但是要完全理解，还是要花一定时间的。书中介绍了线对称，面对称，体对称等。有很多东西都是作者自己的原创。唯一的缺点是，书中印刷错误较多，在这本书的主页上，作者给出了勘误表。
