标准的言情，我看的版本比这老多了，翻译很一般。老实说，当初看得很勉强。倒不是说剧情不精彩或人物过分老土僵硬，我对言情向来是很宽容的。只是这本总是缺点什么，男主角做得太过分，逼得太紧；女主又十分坚定不拔，或许我是女生，只觉得她对于男主角的好感在后期已被磨灭的...

书信体读来有些枯燥，但是书信体的这种形式让读者有种voyeur的感觉，这种窥探他人privacy的事实正如小说中的男主私自看Pamela的书信，所以好像让读者身临其境男主的心情。在读这本书的时候，感觉自己不像是活在书外的人，而是和女主进行直接对话，分析她亦真亦幻的情感，对于virtue坚决的preservation，但又字里行间流露出来的被压抑的欲望。这本书有很多不同的解读，可以说是浪漫的爱情故事，也可说是因为sexual assault而成就的所谓的婚姻。女主男主到底是真爱？还是女主为了virtue不得不作此选择？还是在sexual assault之前女主就对男主有感情，只不过被压抑，在这之后对他有厌恶，又爱又恨地嫁给了他？尤其在当下频频发生各种事情的当口，再读Pamela意味深长

唐顿的编剧是不是对Pamela的故事烂熟于心？要耐着性子滤掉多少圣母光环，才能逮住一段有回味的对话。一旦Richardson暂时不想道德说教，幽默傲娇嘴硬种种就很好看
