Waterfield譯的《理想國》。「可讀性」是Waterfield翻譯追求的目標，我認為他也做到瞭這一點。他的譯文平白流暢，難解的概念多以日常單詞譯齣，很適閤閱讀。但適閤閱讀的，是否適閤研究？平白是否會減損「哲學性」？則見仁見智瞭。值得一提的是他將「dikaios」譯作「morality」，與通行的「justice」有很大不同。
