It must be emphasized that this is a listof recommended definitions and symbols and is not intended for use as atextbook or statistical cookbook. It is aimed as a convenience to those whohave learned the appropriate techniques elsewhere. While a large variety ofterms are included, many have been omitted, especially those dealing withmore advanced or specialized methodology. A writing committee consisting ofRichard A.
