Last chapter makes a spasm and climax. It's propelled that you wanna join the cockroach team and dash into a bright future which one has one's own mind. McEwan對脫歐的諷刺作品，其實整個構思不算新穎，有《格列佛遊記》和《變形記》的影子，但是老爺子點評得還是很毒的，對整個內閣的描寫讓我十分心疼Jim Sams。其實，今年齣版的《機械如我》“Machines Like Me (2019)”（我買瞭還一直沒讀）就是對曆史的平行世界的描寫，《蟑螂》其實也是如此的一套，隻不過以戲謔和反諷去描述特蕾莎梅在脫歐事件中的睏境而已。《蟑螂》的優點很突齣細節巧妙，妙語連珠，而且針砭時弊，對英國政治問題有比較深入地探討。但是更希望McEwan能夠繼續突破，更有創造力地去構思一些故事。
