英語翻譯的很擰巴，找本法文的看看去。終於讀完瞭，說真的蠻失望的。這書當年是我一個法國好友介紹的，當時就覺得看不下去。今年翻齣來讀居然發現其實主角是日本富裕老男人。日式生活什麼都是對的，實在叫我接受不瞭。本以為是法國勞動階級老年婦女和法國富裕傢庭年輕人互相救贖的故事，結果卻是日本拯救法國。哎！最後門房必須死啊，要不，日本富翁配門房的跨階級，跨民族的愛情？

Everything Japanese is elegant and beautiful. Everything French is vulgar and hypocritical. 她們需要一個有錢而又有品味的日本老先生來validate她們存在的意義。車禍是法國小說裏反復齣現的對無常的闡釋嗎？Or to stop abruptly before life gets too real again? Overall a clever novel due to the interesting characters. (Note when she praises somebody, she calls her an aristocrat or a princess.)

1、跟電影不同，小說是雙綫敘事，第一人稱，人物也更多。但各有好處。2、裏麵有多處有關哲學和藝術的深入討論，應該是作者的夫子自道，齣自中老年女文青之口總覺得不太妥帖。3、骨子裏仍然是通俗浪漫小說，結尾的方式尤其如此。4、不知主人公是否是前所未見的典型人物。
