断断续续读完了，我觉得确实不是很符合我的胃口。我能感觉到Bisson是想展现如何从权力衍生出中世纪的政府，但他的根基似乎就是经济发展和人口增长。我不知道他是不是马克思主义派的，不过完全不谈神学、完全不谈宗教生活，只就政治谈政治，恐怕揭示不了中世纪社会转型的样貌。我完全同意中世纪时期的内部斗争和各种博弈，不能简单地看作世俗与教会权威的两元对立，无论是世俗政府还是教会都绝非铁板一块，但是——虽然内部外部都各有不同，但基本“站队”还是在教权和王权（这里从广义上说也包括地方领主权）的两个阵营中。危机也有，权力也有，领主权也有，但似乎还是没有说清楚欧洲政府怎么起源的。
