帕特里克·怀特（Patrick White 1912—1990）　澳大利亚小说家、剧作家，1973年获诺贝尔文学奖。著有《人类之树》、《福斯》、《坚固的曼陀罗》、《活体解剖者》、《风暴眼》等长篇小说和剧本《撒尔沙季节》、《快乐的灵魂》、《秃山之夜》等。

怀特的作品明显为神秘主义、象征主义和现代心理分析学说所影响。他善于运用意识流的手法，大跨度地将情节与人物内心活动编织在一起，细致而深刻地描绘人物的内在世界。他的小说大多篇幅浩瀚、用词冷僻。瑞典学院评价他为“一位社会批评家，正如一切名副其实的真正作家一样，他主要通过写人来批评社会”。
