彼得·辛格（Peter Singer）澳大利亚、美国哲学家，1946年生于墨尔本，被誉为当代最有影响力的哲学家之一。他毕业于剑桥大学哲学系，曾任国际伦理学学会主席，是世界动物保护运动的倡导者。现任普林斯顿大学生命伦理学教授和墨尔本大学荣誉教授。其代表著作《动物解放》自1975年出版以来，被翻译成20多种文字，在几十个国家发行，再版多达26次。
