這個英譯本實在一言難盡，導言寫得相當精彩，每章前的開篇也不錯，但加入瞭太多作者的主觀意見，亞氏文中實際上是看不齣來的，而且翻譯很多地方確實難讀，不知道是不是希臘語本身的緣故，但中譯本卻譯的很流暢，作者自己也說不打算翻地簡單，但這不是藉口啊！有兩個地方需要注意：1，substance, essence, definition, form, species之間的關係是什麼？ 重點在於form/species之間（參SEP），導言中作者認為亞氏在《形》裏對“第一本體”的定義與在《範》中相互顛倒，但SEP中並不這麼認為。2，SEP和導言裏對待substance是否為universal的意見也相互分歧，前者涉及definition must be of universal，後者predication。

什么是形而上学？ 个人比较喜欢亚里士多德的文风，我认为他是为数不多的主动意识到“表达要清楚明了、不要故弄玄虚”的哲学家。更为难得的是，亚里士多德在某些问题上做的arguments，即使拿到现在来看，还能杀死一大片神棍们。 因为著作本身的条理清晰，所以在阅读的同时做些...  

亚里士多德应该是第一个哲学的集大成者。 他的《形而上学》，可以视作是第一部哲学史。 其中既谈到了自己的哲学创见，比如对本体的确认，四因的提出，等等；更难能可贵的是，他对前人的总结比较分析，给后世留下了宝贵的研究资料。 但那些立足定义概念的讨论又是十分原始的，所...
