First read in 2011, reread on a tranquil night just now. An exceedingly sweet and heartbreaking story, a rollercoaster kind of journey, a second-to-none love life. My heart hurts infinitely as the story ends, by the love of Ruth and Idgie and the loss of them. Best ever!

This is soooo good, so warm, with many many sweet stories from olden times. Absolutely love Dot Weems and the sarcastic tone she used when referring to her other half. Evelyn’s life crisis is equally touching. Have already downloaded the film but don’t plan to watch it, let the stories and characters remain what they are in my head.

想知道所有的故事，又舍不得读完。读到最后哭了（可能是头一回），只是因为看到Idgie家的老房子和生机勃勃的玫瑰。想到生命的诞生与消失，想到好像一切都不存在过，因为无解而流泪。

Fannie Flagg began writing and producing television specials at age nineteen and went on to distinguish herself as an actress and writer in television, films, and the theater.

She is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe (which was produced by Universal Pictures as Fried Green Tomatoes), Welcome to the World, Baby Girl!, Standing in the Rainbow, and A Redbird Christmas.

Flagg’s script for Fried Green Tomatoes was nominated for both the Academy Award and the Writers Guild of America Award and won the highly regarded Scripters Award. Flagg lives in California and in Alabama.
