小說比電影好多了, 剛剛開始讀的時候就覺得有點伍爾夫的味道, 結果果然如此. 結尾重演60多年前得那場戲很感人, 物是人非.

看的时候也和别人一起说了Briony不少坏话。可是，我简直太清楚在她那个年纪的敏感与想要拥有秘密的渴望了，对她根本讨厌不起来。这本来是个悲伤的故事，看完却只觉得人生大多不如意，可是爱情这么奇妙。

His first published work, a collection of short stories, First Love, Last Rites, won the Somerset Maugham Award.
