相比于他对伊斯坦布尔的描写，帕慕克的想法和他这个人似乎更加有趣，经常daydream，通过painting逃离无聊迷茫的现实，人前joking，人后孤独，事后反思还称自己是pretencious idiot，从小乐观富有生命力的他随着年龄的增长也免不了孤独和忧伤的侵袭，但他没被”生命本无意义，平凡才是答案“的思想驯化，最后一句可爱地说I decided to be a writer. （可以先去看BBC三城记纪录片，然后听audiobook，感觉不错！）
