Lois Lowry is known for her versatility and invention as a writer. She was born in Hawaii and grew up in New York, Pennsylvania, and Japan. After several years at Brown University, she turned to her family and to writing. She is the author of more than thirty books for young adults, including the popular Anastasia Krupnik series. She has received countless honors, among them the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award, the California Young Reader.s Medal, and the Mark Twain Award. She received Newbery Medals for two of her novels, NUMBER THE STARS and THE GIVER. Her first novel, A SUMMER TO DIE, was awarded the International Reading Association.s Children.s Book Award. Lowry now divides her time between Cambridge and an 1840s farmhouse in Maine.

看的时候总想到the handmaid’s tale 也总在思考这本书是不是适合小孩子看 他们看的时候会不会觉得反而那个乌托邦的世界也很好

#Finally finish the novel <the giver># Highly recommended for the novel story and the inspiration for deeper thoughts of life as a teenager. Life is a mix of happiness and sorrows. There's no Utopia and nothing's perfect. What really matters is the freedom to make a choice on your own.

中间有些情节有些突兀。。 后来还是觉得不那么突兀,Jonas从一开始就对这个世界有很多看法,而不是像其他人一样麻木地活着。
