社區中的人們沒有感情，生活連黑白都不是，是灰色的，所有的東西似乎都可以用一抹影子來替代。因為畏懼悲傷，孤獨，所以連快樂幸福的權利也放棄。抽離瞭人性，我們與機器沒有什麼兩樣。但是正是這樣可以維持一個有秩序的社會。其實根本就沒有什麼elsewhere，小說中整個人類世界都是模糊的。在我看來，最後Jonas和Gabriel應該是去瞭天堂，而最後看見五光十色的世界就像賣火柴的小女孩最後看到的祖母和聖誕大餐一樣。 感覺the giver到後半部分的定位有點亂，或者是我讀得太糊塗。 不管怎樣，這是彆人傢的兒童讀物。 看完書之後看到自己的影子突然感覺有點奇怪，腦子裏全是天呐我是人類頭發還這麼長這是一副怎樣的軀殼我是怎樣的存在啊啊啊好神奇然後天呐你在想什麼。這大概就是閱讀的後勁兒吧。

雖然是兒童科幻，但是，絕對是給18歲以上的，具有獨立思想的人讀的。超級棒，因為內容與當今社會相關聯。
