我很生气地说这书我读的英文版！买的正版！为了对得起那20刀我苦逼了一个多月啊！英文描述出那种沈从文式的意境远远比中文翻译得强啊！还尼玛拍成电影！还穿越了！更坑爹了！

毕竟是美国人写的，lily性格还是不够屈服。这样的女人在那个时代，命再好也难免苦难。

太好的一部小说、历史著作！！竟然是外国人写的，不可思议。

对于中国女性禁锢的历史，我想作者做到了很宝贵的一点，那就是仅此陈述事实，是是非非，作者留下了很多空间让读者自己评判。女人的内心，世世代代经过历史的洗涤，其实有一些本质的东西并不曾改变，比如私心，性卑微，攀比，嫉妒，与虚伪。这些心灵的瑕疵覆盖着可贵的女性精神，坚韧不拔，温情润泽四方

the plot development is a little bit tedious and slow as long as i'm concerned. Alos writing about chinese culture, Amy Tan's books always kept me in suspense and expect. i read about half of this novel, and kept it at that.

Both Lily and Snow Flower were as distorted as their small feet. Born as women, they both were hurt by the foot-binding and other women's traditions of the inner realm -- variations of the same story. Just like Snow Flower, who needed her lies and pride to ...
