考慮到圍繞在作者周圍紛繁的語言和事件，很難斷定作者是否有意諷刺。看論文說她的題目可能被編輯修改過，但選用scum也不可避免會指嚮society for cutting up man。不過拋開這些後人編織的謎團，文本本身相當無聊（文體還有點意思），那個時代各種思想雜糅在一起，一種不知道是不是戲仿的男性世界反轉。不管研究者怎麼努力也很難讓這個文本獨立於同時代女權主義而經典化。

看似荒誕不經，實為激進的諷刺，把常見的厭女癥對女性汙名化的態度轉嚮男性。scum manifesto讀著有多荒謬可笑，男權社會下的女性地位就有多荒謬可笑。激進女權主義有其存在的必要，想要捍衛自己的利益就不能溫和忍讓逆來順受，革命不是請客吃飯。
