Thomason總是好謙遜的口吻，角度介於social和historical之間。比較重要的章節是Contact-induced change: Results, Mechanism, Pidgin & Creole 及BML，Linguistic Areas可以當作深度科普（話說印度語言狀況真是令人咋舌...原來Assamese is a thing...
